Events Coordinator
The Events Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of executing special events hosted by the Chamber of Commerce in support of our membership and the local business community. The Events Coordinator will use their creativity and business skills to plan and implement a diversity of impactful community events.
Essential Job Functions
- Handle all aspects of special events from start to finish; ensuring each event is planned and executed according to the event goals, objectives and budget.
- Set up and take down event according to established plans and timelines
- In coordination with Communications Director, plan for and help design marketing collateral to support event communications to include website, social media postings, flyers, brochures, posters, emails, and other collateral defined for each event
- Maintain event budgets and prepare post-event recaps
- Coordinate with event vendors; manage vendor relationships and contracts
- Assist in identifying event sponsors and execute sponsor deliverables at each event
- In coordination with staff and Board of Directors, solicit donations for events including but not limited to auction items, product give aways, and business services
- Write and oversee the execution of event agenda, including timelines, talking points, closing remarks, etc, when necessary
- Conduct event evaluation through surveys, emails, word of mouth, and other appropriate avenues to solicit feedback and improve processes and outcomes
- Attend meetings, as required, to execute essential job functions
- Liaise with Chamber Committees to plan and execute events, solicit volunteers & attract business sponsorships and donations, where appropriate.
- Liaise with and maintain positive working relationships with community partners in the planning, permitting, and execution of events

- The ability to listen, understand and assimilate information and ideas presented through various communication styles and from various sources as it relates to the planning, marketing and execution of events
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and implement solutions.
- Skills and motivation to build trust and working relationships with diverse personalities.
- The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities effectively
- Enthusiasm for bringing an event to life through thoughtful planning and execution
- Requires light to moderate lifting and transportation to and from events/meetings.
- Minimum of two years of experience planning events
Compensation / Employment type: Part-Time, 25 hours per week. $17/hour. Flexible Schedule. Monday-Friday and some nights and weekends required.
